Our library

Our library is the information hub of the school where students, teachers and parents can access resources through a variety of formats including print, online and multimedia resources. Our library collection is continually updated and assessed to ensure the collection is current and relevant for the needs of our school. We also have a growing number of bilingual books to support our students from a non-English speaking background.

Premier's Reading Challenge

All students are encouraged to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge which runs from March 2nd - August 28th. K-2 students must read 30 books and 3-6 students must read 20 books in their challenge level. Remember that any 3 PRC series books will count towards your challenge and you are allowed 10 personal choice books! Students are able to log their books on their record via the PRC student experience website.

Wheeler's ePlatform

Our school has access to hundreds of fantastic books which can be accessed through Wheeler's ePlatform. This platform can be accessed through a browser or you may download the ePlatform app to any device. Students can login using their school username and password and may borrow ebooks and audiobooks to read and listen to.

Students are able to search books by their Premier's Reading Challenge level or add filters to search by books suitable for their age range. If a book is currently borrowed and unavailable, students are able to reserve that book and will be notified when it is available. Students may borrow 2 ebooks and 2 audiobooks at the same time!

ClickView logo

ClickView is an online platform that offers thousands of educational videos designed to support the curriculum and engage students. Putney Public School has a ClickView subscription. To use ClickView students need to sign in using their school email address and then find our school in the drop down menu. They will then be asked to use their student username and password to login. These are the same details a student would use to access the student portal. Putney students can find high-quality and relevant content for authentic learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.

MyON reading platform

MyOn logo

We are committed to providing reading opportunities for students to become independet and engaged readers. MyON is an online reading platform that Putney students were able to use during the period of online learning.  Now that we are back to face-to-face learning teachers have been using MyON in classroom reading groups, research and homework tasks. MyON has a range of books including an extensive collection of non-fiction texts and graphic novels which have been very popular with students. MyON has the fantastic ability to set goals for students,  track reading and progress and quiz students on the books they have just completed.

Putney Public School students are able to access World Book Online. This resource includes an online encyclopedia, games, puzzles, maps and timelines. Students can use this resource for personal interest or research tasks. World Book Online has many extra features, including a 'read-to' function and the ability to translate texts into other languages.

Students are currently able to reserve 3 books using ORBIT which will be placed in the reservations tubs for students to pick up on their library day. The videos below show a guide of how to log in to the OLIVER library platform from the student portal and how to reserve a book.
